Game of the year: vote now

Retailer GAME has announced that it is to sponsor this year's Gaming Baftas by supporting what amounts to the People's Choice Award. The British Gaming Academy Awards take place next week at London's Park Lane Hilton Hotel.

Awardwinners for all categories are decided by the Bafta panel of judges. The sole exception is the GAME Award of 2008. It is decided by a public vote.

Hot favourites include Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, LittleBigPlanet and Nintendo's Wii Fit.

To register and cast your vote, head to www.baftagameaward.com.

Sony is offering goodies including a 42in flatscreen TV and a Blu-ray player as prizes for games fans who cast their vote before next Sunday.

The British Gaming Academy Awards take place on 10th March.
