Deckster: Bringing the Tape Player Back Via a Watch

You can wear a normal watch, you can wear a kitschy iPod nano watch, or you can wear an iPod nano watch that's sleek and sexy

There are a lot of iPod Nano watch bands on the market, but most of them make it fairly difficult to get the iPod Mano in and out of the case. The Deckster, designed by N-Product Inc., not only solves the problem while maintaining a stylish look, but it also borrows heavily from a popular device from our past--the audio cassette player.

Instead of the case requiring the removal of screws to insert your iPod Nano, you can make use of a spring loaded dual-way release button that opens the Deckster with ease. The sleek iPod nano wristwatch case is not yet available for purchase, but it is available for pre-order now, and will retail for $150.00 CAD (about $153.00 USD). The Deskster case is aluminum and genuine leather, so you don't have to worry about it falling apart on you any time soon.

Having worn an iPod Nano watch for a couple of months, I have to admit it's a lot more useful than one would suspect. The only thing that would make the iPod Nano even more ideal as a watch would be Bluetooth support for bluetooth equipped headphones, and Wi-Fi/AirPlay capabilities. If Apple managed to squeeze those things into the nano, alongside apps, I suspect a lot of people would be walking around with iPods strapped to their wrists.
