Vizio Officially Announces All-in-One PC, New Laptops, and 10-inch Tablet

Vizio officially branched out into the PC market, with announcements of its new all-in-one PC and two new laptops.

Vizio officially branched out into the PC market, with announcements of its new all-in-one PC and two new laptops. The value HDTV maker has also unveiled (without revealing very much) its next-generation 10-inch tablet.

We heard rumors of Vizio's plans to enter the PC market just a couple of days ago, with promises that the sleek PCs would be ridiculously affordable. While the details are still paltry, Vizio has posted on its CES "backstage pass" website section photos and videos of these now confirmed, upcoming Windows-based machines.

Aesthetics was obviously at the forefront for Vizio when developing these laptops and the all-in-one, described as "premium" products. The "super-sleek premium Thin + Light Notebook" looks like it will join the ranks of hot ultraslim Ultrabooks when it debuts in the spring. According to the earlier Bloomberg report the Thin + Light will most likely come with a 14-inch display, and the new Vizio product video shows off a high definition display plus HDMI post.

An even more generically named "Vizio Notebook" also looks admirably thin and is simply described by Vizio as a laptop for fun and entertainment. Presumably, the Notebook would be the mainstream, less expensive model with a 15.6-inch display.

The All-In-One, meanwhile, also is confirmed as coming in the spring, but the two display sizes (24-inch and 27-inch) as well as any other specifications are yet to be pinned down--and are perhaps forthcoming this week at the Consumer Electronics Show.

In addition to the new PCs, Vizio officially unveiled its latest M-Series tablet, a 10-inch slate which will most likely run Android, if the 8-inch Vizio tablet predecessor is any indication.

All of these devices--tablet, laptops, all-in-one--and Vizio flat panel TVs will be part of the "Vizio Entertainment EcoSystem," the company says, so you can start watching something on one device and continue on another. That interconnectivity plus bargain prices and attractive designs make this new lineup really promising.
