AMD shuns Evesham

Kids can be so cruel. And by kids, I mean chip manufacturers. Specifically AMD. Still reeling from receivership and eventual rescue by PPC Technology - aka TimeUK - Evesham is losing friends fast.

Displaying a fine understanding of the concept of 'kicking a man while he's down', AMD has pulled out of its 'direct relationship' with Evesham. This means, I think, that while Evesham can use AMD processors in its PCs, bulk-buy discounts and access to early information are no longer on offer.

In effect AMD has relegated Evesham from its Facebook Top Friends. AMD will still go for a pint with Evesham, but only if everyone else is busy. And it'll try to keep it quiet, thank you very much.

Evesham is assuring customers that there will be no problem with the supply of AMD systems. Managing director Richard Austin said: "I guess we’ll have to rebuild our credibility".

Might be worth giving Intel a lend of your bike, Richard.
