Mac Pro sets new speed record

That's the news from our friends at Macworld.

They ran benchmark tests on the 2GHz and 3GHz models of the Mac Pro, the new Intel-based desktop with two dual-core Xeon processors. Macworld found the 3GHz Mac Pro faster than the 2.7GHz dual-processor Power Mac G5 in most tests, the notable exception being that of Adobe Photoshop CS2, which is not yet optimised for Intel processors.
