Is that an MP3 player in your pocket - or a gun?

An MP3 player-toting Stoke mechanic has been arrested by overzealous armed police who thought he was carrying a firearm.

In a scene reminiscent of the dystopian masterpiece Brazil, the wholly innocent Darren Nixon was followed by three police cars before being threatened at gunpoint, handcuffed, searched, fingerprinted and swabbed for DNA. This followed a tip-off by a passer-by who saw Nixon changing tracks on his MP3 player and thought it was a gun.

Perhaps they thought he had a criminal record.

If you're willing to take the risk of police action, our database of 1,700 detailed reviews includes all the latest MP3 players.
