iPod more popular than Paris Hilton

AOL has revealed that Apple’s iPod was the most searched-for term on its AOL Search and AOL Video Search tool during 2006.

The other terms rounding out the top ten video search entries included rapper 50 Cent, BMW, pop star Jessica Simpson, her sister Ashlee Simpson, socialite Paris Hilton and others.

This is the second straight year that iPods were the most searched-for gadget on AOL Search - in that category, cell phones and digital cameras followed. The new video game consoles couldn't come close - the PlayStation 3 only made it up to number 5 and Nintendo's new Wii was number 10. Microsoft's Xbox 360, which made its debut in 2005, was number 7 on the gadget list.
