Oh, no, gasps the man as he spots the envelope leant up against the vase holding a single rose.
Valentine's Day. Dread.
I forgot last year, and I've forgotten again this year. She never forgets.
I know, smiles the man. I'll do what I did last year - send her an Apple iCard, and pretend I'm being environmentally friendly by not buying a card, or, er, subsidising the flower trade that flies tulips hundreds of miles from Amsterdam.
Right, fire up the Mac. Go to Mac.com, and send a lovely iCard.
Ooh, look. Mac.com has changed its name to Me.com. How lovely, and so much more personal for my loved one.
But hang on a minute. Where's the iCards? What, Apple scrapped them. What?!
She's coming up the stairs now. Gulp. Apple, why have you forsaken me?
As of Friday February 13 the petition asking Apple to reinstate iCards to Mobile Me is just two away from reaching the 1,000 mark. I suspect that it will pass that mark handsomely come February 14.
