Opinion: Revert OS X Lion's Page Scrolling To the Old Direction
I wouldn't exactly call myself an old-fashioned guy, but I'm a little surprised at how long it's taking me to get accustomed to one of the minor little tweaks in OS X Lion, the new version of Apple's Mac operating system that launched today. I'm talking about page scrolling, which Apple has just inverted by default, and the newly tweaked feature can take more than a little getting used to.

Opinion: iPhone 5: Job site sparks rumour of August launch
A posting on a British job site has ignited speculation that Apple is getting set to launch the next iteration of the iPhone as early as August 16. '"Apple...[is] seeking full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project ... for the period 16th August - 28th October," the posting reads on Reed.co.uk. The job ad does not specify why Apple needs more iPhone sales staff or mention a forthcoming iPhone. Gekko, a U.K. recruitment firm, is handling the hiring for Apple and has ads on Reed for various locations throughout the U.K. The ad was first reported by CNET UK.

Opinion: iPhone 5 Rumor Rundown
In previous years, we would know what to expect in the next iPhone by now, because we would have already seen it onstage at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. Here's a rundown of what we've heard so far:

Opinion: Nokia Wins Patent War with Apple--You're Next Android
Don't put any dirt on Nokia's coffin just yet--the company still has some life in it. A victory in its patent war with Apple means a new revenue stream for Nokia, and a stronger position to enforce its patent portfolio with other mobile device makers.

Opinion: Snap Photos With Your iPhone Headset In iOS 5
One of the 200+ new features in Apple's upcoming iOS5 is the ability to snap photos by pressing the physical volume up button. This was formerly a hidden feature in the Camera+ app by developer tap tap tap and was cause for the app's removal from the App Store for violating Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. It is not clear whether Apple has actually amended the HIG or has simply made an exception for their own app. In any case, it has been a long requested feature which was welcomed with loud cheers when it was announced at WWDC last week.

Opinion: iOS 5: 5 Blatant Android Rip-Offs
Apple unveiled a host of new features in iOS 5 due out this fall including revamped notifications, over-the-air updates, and cloud data storage. You might even call these new features magical or revolutionary, unless you're an Android user, then you'd call them "stuff I've been using for years." The latest additions to Apple's mobile OS are probably a welcome relief for iPhone and iPad fans, but it's hard to call iOS "the world's most advanced mobile operating system" when Apple is playing catch up to Android. Here's a look at the five biggest Android rip-offs in iOS 5.

Opinion: Turn Dropbox Into a Jukebox for Your iOS Device
Dropbox--is there anything it can't do? Regular readers know of my fondness for the online storage service, which is fantastic for keeping files in sync across multiple devices and making cloud-based backups. But it turns out Dropbox is also part jukebox, at least when you pair it with BoxyTunes.

Opinion: Hold the half-baked hardware
How much should you pay for a laptop? And how much do you want to fork out? The latter is probably a lot less than the figure you mentally answered in response to my first question, but the correlation between the two is important.
