The Springfield mall now has its own Mapple store – and so starts a vicious lampooning of Apple and its co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs that’s cute enough to amuse even the most fervent Mac fan.
"It's so sterile," gasps Lisa Simpson when entering the glass cube store. Sadly, she can't even stretch her cash to a pair of iPhonies - white earbuds that at least let you pretend you can afford Apple's products.
Bart Simpson cruelly overdubs a Steve Mobs presentation, making him tell a shocked crowd of the Mac devoted: "You think you're cool because you buy a $500 phone with a picture of a fruit on it. Well, guess what? They cost 8 bucks to make and I pee on every one!"
Steve/Bart continues: "I have made a fortune off you chumps, and I have invested it all in Microsoft. Now my boyfriend Bill Gates and I kiss each other on a pile of your money."
Bart is eventually chased out of the store after Comic Book Guy throws a hammer at the giant screen of Steve Jobs in an homage to Apple’s famous ‘1984’ Mac TV ad and also Steve's 1997 Macworld Boston keynote when he got all chummy with Bill Gates: "Traitor! Your heart is blacker than your turtleneck!".
