Digital Realty completes datacentre purchase

In line with its Asia-Pacific (APAC) expansion goals, datacentre solutions provider, Digital Realty, has completed its acquisition of a 7500 square-metre datacentre in Macquarie Park, an area which has developed to become a key location for technology companies.

The purchase price is listed as $11.75 million, and is fully leased to "a leading global provider of IT products" on a long-term basis. Digital Realty did not disclose the name of the customer.

"The addition of this institutional quality datacentre facility to our portfolio expands our footprint in the Sydney market, and adds a new global, blue-chip tenant to our customer base," Digital Realty APAC senior vice-president and regional head, Kris Kumar, said.

This acquisition follows the recent completion of Digital Realty's Turn-Key Flex datacentre, which is located further west in Erskine Park.

The Turn-Key Flex solution is a modular approach to secure, enterprise-grade datacentre space for 'just-in-time' requirements. Each facility is commissioned with its own dedicated electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
