Mountain Lion 10.8.3 now with developers for testing

Features AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center updates

Developers are now receiving a new beta of OS X Mountain Lion.

Just before Thanksgiving Apple promised those signed up to the AppleSeed program that the newest version of OS X would be with them this week.

Mountain Lion 10.8.3 features updates to AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, and the Graphics Drivers. According to a report on iFans, it is the graphics drivers that Apple is flagging up as problematic in this build. That site claims Apple lists various drawing issues as potential problems, for example, using the Command+Tab shortcut to switch between programs may result in icons being improperly rendered in black.

According to data released at the beginning of November, one in four Macs now run OS X Mountain Lion. A 'supplemental update' to Mountain Lion was released to users last week. This update is recommended for all Mac systems introduced in 2012 and Apple says that Supplemental Update 2.0 "addresses an issue with Keychain that can affect 2012 Mac systems."

Apple appears to be testing Mac OS X 10.9, according to data appearing in analytics logs. According to reports, Apple's OS X 10.9 may be called Lynx (like the UK brand of deodorant, named Axe elsewhere), and will have Maps and Siri integration, according to new reports.
