Micromine sponsors Curtin Uni summer school

Software solutions provider, Micromine, will be a sponsor of Curtin University's International Summer School which is themed Resources for a Sustainable Future."

This adds to Micromine's existing involvement with international university programs.

The company joins major sponsor, Rio Tinto, as well as the Department of State Development, Department of Mines and Petroleum, and the City of Perth, which are already behind the initiative.

From November 19 to 28, about 30 delegates from Russia, Korea, Chile, Brazil, Malaysia, and Japan will meet in Perth to hear from market experts on resources industry related topics.

The event will focus on Western Australia and the university's strengths in a number of key areas, including mining and mineral processing, oil and gas, engineering, and more.

This will be the first time an Australian university has hosted premier Russian universities.

"We have very strong ties to Russia," Micromine CEO, Kevin Fitzpatrick, said. "We also have a long history of partnering with high calibre tertiary institutions."

"Curtin is a major tertiary institution and the second largest university in Australia. We are proud to be partnering with them to promote WA industry and assist in showcasing WA as one of the strongest and most forward-thinking resources hubs in the world."

Micromine has recently established an Academic License Agreement with Curtin University's WA School of Mines, following on from another arrangement between the company and the University of Mongoloa, the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan, and Tashkent State Technical University.
