Video: The Byte - Barnes & Noble subsidiary, LG Cloud, Google Street View, Microsoft HomeOS

Microsoft will invest $300 million in a new Barnes and Noble subsidiary which will give Microsoft an 18 percent equity stake. This is part of an effort to capitalize on the growth of the Nook and college businesses of Barnes and Noble.  The companies have also settled their patent litigation as part of the deal.

LG Electronics will launch a beta of its LG Cloud service on Tuesday that will allow users to access content across various devices.  Android smartphones, LG TVs, and PCs and laptops will automatically sync content via the LG Cloud app.  This will be offered as both a free and paid service.
