Ultrabooks are expected to sell better this year due to an increase in model selection regardless of tablet competition.  The new ultrabooks are expected to drop in price and appeal to larger range of users.  Intel says that 75 ultrabook models are currently in development.

Space Shuttle Discovery was placed on top of a modified 747 in preparation for its ride to Washington DC on April 17. It will then be moved to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum for permanent public display. Discovery concluded its last flight in March 2011.

Fujitsu showed off its robotic teddy bear at an open house outside Tokyo. It has 13 touch sensors that let it responded to being squeezed and tickled. There’s also a camera in the nose that let it recognize people and judge their moods. There’s no launch date.

DARPA is looking for robots that can drive vehicles, use human tools, and assist in evacuation operations in its Robotics Challenge.  The agency is offering $34 million dollars in various categories.  The challenge begins in October and is expected to continue until 2014.
