Apple's new iPad went on sale in 10 countries Friday. 200 braved freezing temperatures in Boston with no shortages reported. In Tokyo one perons waited 36 hours to be the first to buy the device. The iPad goes on sale in 25 more countires next week.

iFixit went to Australia to be the first to take apart the new tablet. It found a massive, 42 and a half watt-hour battery, almost double the iPad2. The hardest part was getting the glass off, which took heat guns, guitar picks and suction cups.

New regulations requiring China's Twitter-like microblogging sites to only allow posts from verified users went into effect Friday. Announced last year, government officials see it as a way to protect users and eliminate rumors on the sites, but some are skeptical.

London Underground will use Virgin Media to offer free WiFi in 80 tube stations in time for the Summer Olympics. It will use 802.11n so passengers can expect speeds comparable to 4G. Virgin Media will increase WiFi equipped stations to 120 by the end of the year.
