Apple has filed a patent-related complaint against Samsung in California.
Bloomberg reports that Apple filed the complaint yesterday in federal court in San Jose. However, a copy of the complaint hasn't yet been made available.
The news comes after an Australian court decided that a complaint brought by the South Korean company against Apple would be heard in July.
Samsung filed the case in the Sydney Federal Court against Apple last year, alleging that the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S infringed on 3G patents, breached a FRAND (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) licence and raised issues of competition law.
Apple has this week had plenty to say on the subject of FRAND licences this week, calling for a rewrite of European patent laws to stop companies holding patents covered by FRAND agreements charging extortionate rates for licences.
Microsoft and Cisco have come out in support of Apple in its quest to clarify the rules surrounding FRAND licensing, though Google seems to be happy with the way the system currently works.
