The winners of the PC Advisor Awards 2010 have been announced, with gongs going out to the likes of Acer, Adobe, Apple, Canon, Google, Microsoft, Symantec and Western Digital.
Palm beats iPhone shocker! Chrome beats Firefox!
The PC Advisor Hardware and Software Awards 2010 were voted for by PC Advisor editors and expert contributors. All nominated products were reviewed in the PC Advisor Test Centre during 2009.
The PC Advisor Reader Awards 2010 were voted for by 5,000 PC Advisor print and online readers between 2nd October and 6th December 2009. A further 6,500 PC Advisor readers voted in the annual Broadband ISP survey.
In addition PC Advisor announced winners of its Product Of The Year 2009 award, and special awards for Product, Person, Technology and Company Of The Decade (2000-2009).
In all exactly 100 companies' products were nominated in the PC Advisor Awards 2010.
PC Advisor would like to thank awards sponsors AMD, HP and PC Tools.

"The quality of product launches in 2009 was extremely strong," said PC Advisor Editor-in-Chief Paul Trotter.
"At the end of a decade that has pushed new technologies into the lives of us all it was exciting to see new names emerging as well as the more established brands."
Surprise winners include the Palm Pre, which won the award for Best Smartphone over the omnipotent Apple iPhone 3GS.
PC Advisor judged it "the smallest, neatest 3G smartphone around".
"This is a fantastic, well-connected phone first and foremost; the fact that it's also a desirable gadget is a bonus. Touch-sensitive controls and the ability to run four or five applications at once make the most of its 3.1in display and nippy processor."
Apple's ubiquitous iPhone 3GS did triumph in the Readers' Gadget Of The Year category, however.
Another unexpected winner was Panasonic, which beat rivals Canon, Fujifilm and Kodak in the Compact Camera category for its Lumix DMC-TZ7. Panasonic was also a big winner in the Readers' Awards, scooping Best TV and Best Blu-Ray Player.
In a win for portability and intelligent design Flip Video's MinoHD beat heavyweight rivals such as Canon, Kodak, Panasonic and Sanyo to win Best Camcorder.
In the Software section Google's fledgling Chrome browser beat more established competition from Microsoft, Apple and Mozilla.
Best mobile phone app went to Spotify, an instantly popular new way of listening to music that promises even greater success in the coming year.
