Asus to launch 'Atom-based desktop Eee PC'

Computex 2008: Ebox expected at Computex

Asus is to follow the success of its ultracheap Eee PC laptop laptop with a desktop PC version called the EBOX. And Asus has now confirmed that the EBOX will launch at Computex in Taipei next month.

According to a report on The Inquirer the Asus EBOX will have a 160GB hard drive, 2GB RAM and run a Linux OS as standard.

There's also speculation that the EBOX will contain an Intel Atom processor.
