Samsung has unveiled the range of accessories available for the Galaxy Tab - its rival to Apple's iPad.

The 7in tablet PC, which will run Google Android, will be made available in the UK on November 1. The company said the initial batch of accessories would be available from launch, with more to be released in the coming months.

The Carphone Warehouse, which is already offering the £529 device for pre-order, will be the only retailer to offer a charging dock that holds the tab in portrait format and comes complete with full-size Qwerty keyboard and audio-out connection. This costs £69.99.

Alternatively, there's a £39.99 multimedia dock, which also charges the device while held in portrait mode, but features an HDMI port so content stored on the Galaxy Tab can be displayed on an HD screen and audio out.

Samsung is also offering a range of cases for the Galaxy Tab including a leather slip case, a silicon gel case and one that also doubles as a stand for the tablet PC. These start from £19.99 and are joined by portable speakers, headphones, a USB data cable and an in-car charger.

"This range of accessories aims to complement the Galaxy Tab's features and improve the experience the device offers – whether that's listening to music, watching video content, playing games or editing documents," said Simon Stanford, managing director of Samsung Mobile.
