Google Nexus 10

After news of the new edition of the Nexus 7 2, Google is said to be launching a new Nexus 10 2 model. (See also: New Nexus 10 2 (2013) vs iPad Air specs comparison review.)

Google unveiled the Nexus 7 2 this week with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and now it seems an updated version of the Nexus 10, made by Samsung, is incoming. Amir Efrati, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, managed to get the news from the horse's mouth - Sundar Pichai, president of Android and Chrome.

Efratia said on Twitter: "Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me"

Apart from the fact the Nexus 10 2 will be coming in the near future and will again be manufactured by Samsung, there are no more details. However, we expect the new 2013 Nexus 10 to be unveiled this autumn in either October or November – a year after the original was unveiled.

It's likely that the Nexus 10 2 will bring with it a major new version of Android, 5.0 Key Lime Pie. It's also likely that the Nexus 10 2 will launch alongside a replacement for the Nexus 4 smartphone, rumoured to be the Nexus 5.

Pichai also told Efrati that the Chomecast gadget it announced for streaming content to your TV will not replace Google TV. In fact, he said that new Google TV products devices are coming.

We'll keep you up to date with anything we hear about the Nexus 10 2. For now, you'll have to take a look at the Nexus 7 2 which will launch in the UK in September starting at £199.
