Google Nexus 7 16GB price drops to £169

Arrival of 32GB Nexus 7 imminent as Nexus 10 leaks online

Google Nexus 7 16GB £169 at Currys PC World

Currys and PC World have dropped the price of the Google Nexus 7 tablet to £169.

Google's higher capacity Nexus 7 tablet has seen a price drop on Currys and PC World's websites from £199 to £169. The move signals the imminent arrival of the 32GB model which will replace it for the same £199 price to better rival Apple's iPad mini.

Meanwhile, the 16GB Nexus 7 is now 'coming soon' on the Google Play Store putting it in the same boat as the entry level 8GB model. Argos confirmed the 32GB Nexus 7 in its Christmas gift guide so it's only a matter of time before it goes on sale, possibly this week.

All would have been revealed at Google's New York Android event later today. However, it has been cancelled due to the incoming hurricane sandy. What retailers will do in the situation is unknown.

The rumoured Nexus 10, a 10in version of the tablet made by Samsung, has been leaked online in a short YouTube video. Also expected is the LG  Nexus 4, Google's latest smartphone, which Carphone Warehouse said would go on sale tomorrow.
