iPad mini gets delayed within minutes
Apple’s recently announced iPad mini and iPad 4 have gone up for pre-order in the UK.
Prices for Apple’s pint-sized iPad mini start at £399 and soon after pre-orders went live the delivery schedule has been pushed back. The 16GB model Nexus 7 rival is now stating it will be dispatched in two weeks instead of on 2 November. See also: Apple iPad mini price in the UK.
At the time of writing, the 32GB and 64GB models priced at £349 and £429 are still on track for the 2 November launch date but only if you want a black & slate model. All the white & silver versions are delayed. See Apple iPad Mini vs Google Nexus 7 tablet comparison review.
All of the iPad 4, or iPad with Retina display, models are unaffected so far. Pricing stays the same for the 9.7in iPad starting at £399 for 16GB Wi-Fi only.
Those wishing to get an iPad mini or iPad 4 with cellular data will have to wait until ‘late November’, although Apple said they would be released two weeks after the Wi-Fi only models placing the launch date on 16 November.
After having to change the name of the third generation iPad from Wi-Fi + 4G to Wi-Fi + cellular because it didn’t support 4G frequency in the UK, Apple has stuck to this system. Rest assured, though, that both the iPad mini and iPad 4 with cellular data do support 4G in the UK.
