Google to bring new Nexus tablets, smartphones and Android OS
Next week's Android event will include a raft of new tablets as well as Nexus smartphones, according to The Next Web. The firm will aim to steer attention away from Apple's iPad Mini and Microsoft's Surface with new tablets of its own.
We've known about the 32GB model of the Nexus 7 tablet after Argos kindly put it in its Christmas gift guide. And now it will supposedly be joined by a model with 3G connectivity in the UK and US.
Google will also announce its Nexus 10 tablet (codename 'Manta'), a device from Samsung which has been rumoured for a while. It will offer a staggering 2560 × 1600 pixel (16:10) resolution to take on the iPad and Surface.
All these devices will come with a new version of Google's Android operating system – most likely 4.2 Jelly Bean than 5.0 Key Lime Pie. The latest edition will include multiple user accounts, redesigned Gmail app, redesigned gallery and camera UI plus hardware controls and improved cards for Google Now, according to Android Police.
