The event for the iPad Mini will take place at the California Theatre in San Jose on 23 October. It comes just over a month after Apple announced its iPhone 5.
The news comes at the same time as Microsoft announced prices for its Surface tablet, a Windows 8 rival to the larger iPad. Apple will be taking on Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets, among others with the iPad Mini.
We've heard that the iPad Mini will be available in 16 models ranging from 8GB up to 64GB with the option of black, white, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi with 4G. It's also possible that Apple will use the event to introduce a 13in MacBook Pro with Retina Display, updated Mac Mini and an updated iMac – possibly including 21in Retina.
All will be revealed on 23 October and we'll be bringing you a live blog of the event to stay tuned to PC Advisor.
