iPad Mini photos confirm design and Lightning connector
Apple's yet to be announced iPad Mini has been revealed in leaked pictures online. See also iPad mini launch: live.
Photographs of Apple's rumoured iPad Mini have been leaked online showing the tablet in full. The pictures come courtesy of Sonny Dickson's Twitter feed, a researcher for 9to5mac. See also: iPad Mini release date, specs and rumours and iPad Mini price in UK.
As you can see in the images, the iPad Mini is significantly smaller than the regular iPad. It supposedly uses a 7.85in screen making it a rival to Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire range.
You can also see below that the iPad Mini sports the new Lightning connector which came into play with the iPhone 5. There's also the familiar aluminium case, rear facing camera and side mounted buttons.
It was thought Apple would reveal the pint-sized iPad along with the iPhone 5 smartphone last month, but the tablet never made an appearance. It is now expected that Apple will announce the iPad Mini on 17 October to go on sale shortly afterwards.
Yesterday we reported that Apple had ordered 10 million units of the iPad Mini to be made during the fourth quarter.
