HTC Vertex is firm's next tablet?

HTC Vertex benchmark appears online with Tegra 3 chip and high res screen

HTC's upcoming tablet could be called the Vertex.

It was only earlier this week that HTC told us it was working on a tablet for the UK and now a benchmark has appeared online for a device called the Vertex, according to Phandroid.. Although the details don't specify it's a tablet it seems fitting after this week's news.

HTC Vertex benchmark

The Vertex, according to the benchmark, runs on Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and has a resolution of 1280 x 752. It also confirms a 1.3GHz nVidia Tegra 3 processor.

There's no indication on screen size but if it were to be 7in, the pixel density would be a step up from the 1024 x 600 of the Flyer.

Earlier this week HTC told us the follow-up to the Flyer was in development and would 'definitely' arrive with a unique selling point.

We're keeping an eye out for more information on the Vertex so we'll keep you up to date.
