Exactly what Google was announcing wasn't certain. However, it was widely speculated and we expected the tech giant to reveal an own-brand Nexus tablet running the next version of Android, version 4.1 Jelly Bean. Below is the leaked image of the tablet in question.

The event follows on from Apple's worldwide developer conference (WWDC) where it announced iOS6 and refreshed its MacBook line-up of laptops and Microsoft's surprise press event where it reveals its own-brand Surface tablets.
