Asus has released another Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update for its Transformer TF101. UPDATE: Asus 'fixes' EeePad Transformer TF101 with ICS update... again
The firm has launched version 9.2.1.21 in the US and Asus told us it should be available in the UK soon. It is the latest attempt to fix various problems introduced when the tablet was first updated to ICS in February. Asus said the update improves: "system stability, email stability, AppBackup app, MyLibrary stability, supports Wi-Fi Direct, supports unzip in File Manager and adds a restore tab function in Browser."
The Transformer has been updated a number of times over the past couple of months but none have fixed the issues which include random reboots, graphics glitches and battery problems. Read more: Asus failing to fix Transformer TF101 problems.
Initial feedback from the US release of this new version isn't good either with many saying the problems are still not fixed or have even got worse. However, a couple of users reported that the update did make the device more stable.
Don said: "Yup, I’m seeing random reboots now too. More than before." Ethan said: "Asus, please issue a recall for all tf101s! All these issues are just too much. persistent problems."
Asus told us: "We are always working on it."
