Research in Motion (RIM) has released a software update for its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
Version 2.0.1.358 is available to download and bring a few enhancements to the 7-inch device. The smartphone and tablet maker launched PlayBook OS 2.0 back in February bringing with it native email, calendar and contact.
RIM hasn't given a very detailed list of the improvements saying that it includes:
• Browser enhancements to address performance with some websites
• Improvements to support Android apps
• Optimizations to Video Chat, PIM [personal information manager] and BlackBerry Bridge applications
• And much more!
Users should receive a notification about the over-the-air (OTA) upgrade but can also manually check within the settings menu.

Resistance said: As a playbook owner I dont see anything wrong with this article at all It is a relatively small update and the playbook is small in comparison to many of the others on the market But of course small in a good way I had an ipad the thing was simply too big to be portable and ended up just sitting at my bedside and never getting used The playbook gets used at work on the airplane coffee shops I even mounted it in my car and use it as a map and music device The playbook is the best tablet on the market right now and without a doubt the best bang for your buck
Knowles2 said: As expect more updates I expect Playbook owners will continually get updates until blackberry 10 is release that way they can test features and updates in the wild before releasing there new OSAn the playbook is the best tablet on the market at it current price point

Seakicreativeservices said: Trini-34 I TOTALLY understand your defensive comments Since I have gotten my MUCH BELOVED Playbook I have seen so many sites bashing this wonderful addition to the Blackberry family To be honestits Blackberrys fault for not providing a great ad campaign for this innovative addition to the product line I even did a blog about it last week here is the link httpseakiwordpresscom201This was a WONDERFUL opportunity for Blackberry to create a really cool entry into the tablet market The Playbook IS NOT an Ipod but a really awesome tablet-like addition to the service that many of us business professionals depend on sorry for the link but this topic is such a hot topic right now Thanks Matt for a good article
Jim Martin said: Just to bring a little balance here read our coverage of the PlayBook in our tablet buying guidehttpwwwpcadvisorcoukbuy If you read through the accompanying articles youll see that we have nothing against the PlayBook at all In fact three of the PC Advisor team have PlayBooks and we like them a lot
Matt Egan said: Well thanks Thanks for that Have a great day too
Trini-34 said: I understood what you meant but did you really have to mention it like thatwhen iso has an update do you say a big update for a big tablet Or when OS2 launched did you say a BIG update for a small tablet see where I am going with this Did meant to sound like an idiol but you media folks bring out the worst in people with your bashing and small talk You said you have one you know that it is a great product lacking apps and all Just enough already with the bashingYou have a great day
Matt Egan said: Wow Leaving aside the total idiocy of your post let me say this the update is minor and the tablet is 7in - ie small I know I have one
Trini-34 said: A small update for a small tabletWhat a redacted stupid headline I hate you RIM bashers for being so stupid redacted against technology Regardless of apps or whatever I will love to see you create something better you probably cannot even have kids redacted
