In pictures: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Beam and Galaxy Tab 2

Photos of Samsung's new tablet and smartphone lines

Samsung's ongoing courtroom battle with Apple over patent violations appears to have had no effect on the pace of its product development. Not satisfied with unveiling just the one new tablet at Mobile World Congress 2012, the Korean tech company is showing off four new devices. See also Samsung Galaxy Note review.

The Galaxy Beam is the black sheep of the Galaxy MWC 2012 family. Not only is it a smartphone, but it comes with a built-in projector. That's right, a projector.

Why? Who knows. But if you need a smartphone that can project a pretty low-res picture up to 15in in size, then the Galaxy Beam is phone for you. I witnessed a demonstration of the device at MWC, and its performance was 'okay'. It certainly didn't blow my mind - in fact, it confused it more than anything.

Tablets

What's interesting about Samsung's latest product line is the similarities between each device. There doesn't appear to be much difference between the Note and the Tabs.

The Galaxy Tab 2 is a fine-tuned version of the original Galaxy tablet, while the Galaxy Note 10.1 appears to be a Galaxy Tab 2 with a couple of free apps (Adobe Photoshop Touch and Adobe Ideas) and a stylus thrown in. It also has a slightly better processor.

For creative users, who need more power and simpler input, Samsung may be on to something. Below are some pictures:
