Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 launched

Smaller tablet PC features Super AMOLED screen

Samsung has unveiled a smaller 7.7in version of its tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab, at the IFA technology show, taking place in Berlin this week.

The tablet PC features a 7.7in Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,280x800 and is powered by a 1.4GHz processor.

Powered by Honeycomb 3.2, the version of the Google Android platform specifically aimed at tablet PC's, the 335g device also benefits from 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity along with HSPA access of 21Mbps and a battery life that offers 10 hours of video playback.

Available in 8GB,16GB or 32GB capacities, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7  measures 197x133x8mm and also features a 2Mp front camera, 3Mp rear camera and a microSD card slot.

“The Galaxy Tab 7.7’s ultra-thin design and WXGA Super AMOLED Plus display are impressive differentiators in the tablet marketplace and pillars of our ultimate goal of meeting a wide variety of consumer needs," said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.

Samsung did not reveal pricing or availability details.
