Microsoft has repaired a flaw in Windows Media Center Edition that deleted content partners for the Dutch version of the software.

Windows Media Center Edition is a special version of the operating system that offers direct access to on-demand video streams. Viewers in the Netherlands are offered access to content including television shows from Dutch public broadcasting organisations, radio stations and a channel dedicated to the Ajax football club.

The content partners are customised for each country, but the content database is managed from the US, according to Microsoft Netherlands. The company blamed the issues on an error in the content management system.

Complaints about the disappearing content started trickling into online forums from January 4. Microsoft said it wasn't notified until last Tuesday and immediately fixed the issue. Users, however, might have to wait until Friday before the updated media database has been pushed out to their PCs.
