Microsoft has revealed it will reinstate its Windows 7 Family Pack offer.

The Family Pack, which was originally priced at £150 – a saving of nearly £150 on the cost of three separate Windows 7 licences - provides buyers with licences to run the Home Premium version of the OS on three PCs.

When Microsoft launched the Family Pack last year, the software giant said it would only be available in "limited quantities" and recently many PC users have reported being unable to find the deal in stores or online.

However, Microsoft has now confirmed the Windows 7 Family Pack will return.

"Windows 7 Family Pack will be available for purchase at participating retailers and online at the Microsoft Store," said Ashley Brown from Microsoft, in a blog.

The pack will be available in the US from October 3, and will hit UK shelves on October 22, one year since the operating system was released. The Family Pack will only be available "while supplies last".
