Evernote, the popular consumer app for taking notes and remembering things, is coming to small and midsize businesses as of December.
Company CEO Phil Libin announced at the Evernote Trunk Conference in San Francisco Friday that you can sign up now to get early access to the document sharing service, which will cost $10 per user.

The free consumer version, launched in 2008, is used by nearly 40 million people, according to the privately held Redwood City, Calif., company. A premium version for individuals with additional storage and features costs $5 a month or $45 per year.
Libin says in a video distributed by the company that Evernote originally was designed to help him and his friends remember stuff better, but that he kept getting urged to come out with a version for businesses. This version will feature user management tools, the ability to make notebooks owned by businesses, a shared directory and simplified employee setup.
Evernote has been expanding its reach via acquisitions of related apps, such as Penultimate for fancy digital handwriting and Skitch for sketching and annotating documents. Evernote works on a slew of mobile and desktop platforms, from Apple iOS to Google Android to Windows IE.
Libin said during the 230-or-so-employee company's conference that Evernote is aiming to serve 1 billion users down the road. The company has raised more than $160 million, including a fresh $70 million in May.
