ASI's Marc Simone tragically killed in accident

ASI Solutions NSW IT education manager, Marc Simone, lost his life over the weekend while training for a charity event in April.

Simone was cycling on the M4 motorway in Sydney on February 16 at 7:30am, when he was hit by a vehicle and died at the scene.

ASI Solutions said, in a statement, that Simone "was an amazing person. He was always happy lifting spirits of those around him and always unselfish, honest and ethical. Simone was seen to be a leader and a mentor to those around him."

ASI Solutions hopes to raise money for the charity, Mission Australia, that Simone was aiming to help.

Mission Australia helps young homeless people and Simone had decided to cycle from Sydney to Darwin in April this year -- a 4000km cycle ride.

On November 14 last year, he posted a statement online about the importance of children having a loving home and proper basic education.

On any given night in Australia, 105,000 people are homeless, and nearly half of these people are under the age of 25, he wrote.

"Australia has one of the world's strongest economies. We are a prosperous nation with one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world, yet youth homelessness is increasing. How does this make sense?

"I want to make more people aware of this issue, so that we as a nation can work towards helping unprivileged children have a life to look forward to," he said.

Simone leaves behind a wife and two young children.

Prior to working as an IT professional in the education space, supporting schools, teachers and students with the 21st century classroom, he was a pre-school teacher.

ASI Solutions, Simone's education contacts, the IT industry and ARN sends its condolences to Simone's family and friends.
