Google acquires Quickoffice

Plans to integrate software into Google Apps

Google has announced that it has acquired mobile productivity suite Quickoffice.

The technology giant said it will be working in integrating Quickoffice's 'powerful technology' into its Apps product suite. Quickoffice is the firm's latest acquisition after Motorola Mobility.

Alan Warren, engineering director at Google said: "We're happy to announce that we have acquired Quickoffice, a leader in office productivity solutions."

Warren commended Quickoffice for its track record of seamlessly allowing compatibility between numerous file formats. Quickoffice is often found pre-installed on various smartphones and tablets.

The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Alan Masarek, co-founder and CEO of Quickoffice said: "Now, we are ushering in a new chapter with Google. By combining the magic of Google’s intuitive solutions with Quickoffice’s powerful products, our shared vision for anytime, anywhere productivity can only grow."
