Quark offering special QuarkXPress 9 upgrade scheme

Users of old versions of QuarkXPress can upgrade for £279 for a limited time

Users of version 7 of QuarkXPress or older can upgrade to the latest edition, QuarkXPress 9, for the same price as a QuarkXPress 8 user for a limited time.

From now until 31 December 2011, you can upgrade to QuarkXPress 9 for £279 (399) no matter which version of QuarkXPress you are currently using.

The latest version of QuarkXPress is in fact QuarkXPress 9.1, which brings App Studio into the mix for the first time.

App Studio allows you to create native apps for the iPad using design tools that will be familiar to QuarkXPress users, as well as avoiding the need for any complex coding work.

"We know there are QuarkXPress enthusiasts that are still working with older versions and we'd like to ease their transition to QuarkXPress 9 by offering a special offer on the cost of an upgrade," said Gavin Drake, Vice President of Marketing for Quark.

"If you're using an older version of QuarkXPress, the new features added in recent years are going to transform your design experience and capabilities as well as enable you to go beyond print to Web, Flash and now eBook and iPad design."

Last month, Quark announced that App Studio would support the Newsstand feature in iOS 5.
