Thomson Reuters launches standardised system monitoring tool

Market data company withdraws in-house software for ITRS Group tool

Thomson Reuters has replaced an in-house systems management and monitoring software with a standardised tool from real-time systems management technology provider ITRS Group.

The in-house tool could previously only be used to manage and monitor the integration points, such as market data feeds, that companies had with the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform.

With the new partnership with ITRS, however, Thomson Reuters' customers can now use ITRS's real-time monitoring tool to manage their integration points with Thomson Reuters, other market data providers, and for other financial services such as order management, processing engines and risk systems.

The company also plans to develop the service to offer systems management support for its global hosting platform Elektron, which provides infrastructure, services and applications hosting.

Thomson Reuters was one of the UK's major market data vendors that displayed serious market stock price irregularities on traders' screens when the London Stock Exchange launched new trading software.

Last year, the company revealed that it was ripping out legacy IT systems and betting heavily on new global IT platforms to achieve higher operational efficiency gains from the 2008 merger that formed the group.
