The browser, which can be downloaded from the Android Market for free, includes popular features such as Speed Dials, a password manager and the ability to sync bookmarks across different devices on which Opera is used, as well as support for panning, scrolling and smooth zooming.
The browser also benefits from Opera's Turbo technology that compresses the bandwidth of text and data files on websites by up to 80 percent to ensure pages load faster.
"Android users now have a better choice when it comes to using a browser on their mobile devices," said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.
"With Opera's new browser for Android, we give users the opportunity to access the web, using the best tools available."
Available in 18 different languages, including English, French and German, the mobile browser can be downloaded now either from the Android Market or from Opera's dedicated website.
Last month, Opera announced its plan to release a mobile browser for Android users and said it expected to make the software available during November.
