Google Buzz iPhone app launched

Buzzie now available from Apple's App Store

An iPhone app for Google Buzz has been made available in the app store.

Buzzie lets iPhone users view and post on their Buzz account, while also using the smartphone's GPS to identify their location and provide alerts to what's going on nearby.

The app, which is priced at £1.19, also allows web users that are not signed up to Buzz see what's happening in their current location.

Google's social network came in for criticism just one day after it launched. Users raised concerns over a feature that compiled a list of the Gmail contacts who users most frequently email or chat with.

Buzz then automatically started following these people and made the list public, meaning strangers could see who Buzz users had been in contact with.

As a result of the concerns, Google quickly tweaked the Buzz to ensure users found it easier to change their privacy settings.
