LinkedIn has confirmed it is a victim of a security breach which saw its users' passwords leaked online.
LinkedIn emails affected users with instructions
Although the firm hasn't stated the amount of passwords leaked, the post on a Russian forum contained almost 6.5 million passwords. LinkedIn is continuing to investigate the issue.

Vicente Silveira, director of LinkedIn said: "We can confirm that some of the passwords that were compromised correspond to LinkedIn accounts. We are continuing to investigate this situation,"
He said that members whose passwords were leaked will find their account password no longer valid. They will receive an email from LinkedIn with instructions on how to change their LinkedIn password.
Finally, they will receive a second email from the LinkedIn customer support team to give context on the situation and explain why their password needs to be changed.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our members. We take the security of our members very seriously." added Silveira.
