Tesco’s line of own-branded PC software is now available online through the Tesco Direct website.
White-label software distributor Formjet, which supplies and supports the software, said that putting the products online will greatly increase Tesco's software’s exposure to a wide and growing customer base, open up a new route to market and help it to further build on the continued strong uptake of its Tesco-branded software.
The full line-up - which includes Tesco Antivirus+Antispyware, Tesco Internet Security, Tesco Internet Security, Tesco Personal Finance, Tesco Complete Office and Tesco Easy Record – was launched last October in what some described as a challenge to Microsoft’s dominance of the office productivity software market.
Formjet claims the software is now being used by a variety of businesses including a number of educational organisations in addition to individual home users.
“We are delighted with the success of the Tesco branded software. The level of sales has been good and we hope that the online availability will further help to drive demand,” said Formjet Executive Chairman Lyndon Chapman.
