HP & Microsoft to announce partnership

Press conference scheduled for Wednesday

HP and Microsoft have announced plans to enter into a new enterprise software agreement, with further details to be revealed later today.

The news will be announced at a joint news conference this afternoon in the US that will feature Kevin Turner, chief operating officer of Microsoft, and Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the Technology Solutions Group at HP.

No further details about the nature of the agreement were revealed.

Current enterprise-level collaborations include HP support of the new Office 2007 suite of business software applications and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 for data centres. HP provides technical briefings and proof-of-concept testing to customers and partners that are considering deploying Windows-based technology in their enterprises.

HP is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solutions, providing technical training on Microsoft systems at HP offices globally.
