In the meantime, Nick Lazaridis, will be the acting lead of PPS in Asia Pacific Japan, while a permanent replacement is found.

Weisler takes on the role vacated by Todd Bradley, who will be taking on a new post as the vendor's executive vice-president of strategic growth initiatives. Bradley will be working directly with Whitman on expanding its China business and channel relationships globally.

Weisler joined HP in January 2012 and boasts more than 23 years experience in the IT industry. Prior to HP, he worked at Lenovo and spent 11 years with Acer.

Whitman said HP was fortunate to have a strong leadership team to help rebuild and restore the company.

"There's nothing more important to HP than our channel partners and the future of our business in China," Whitman said. "I've asked Todd to use his expertise to focus on these areas. I've also asked him to study the landscape of small companies and start-ups that could partner with HP to spur growth."
