Evans succeeds Vincent as Hitachi A/NZ country manager

Storage and virtualisation vendor, Hitachi Data Systems, has appointed Neil Evans as A/NZ and Pacific Islands vice-president and country manager, succeeding Neville Vincent.

Vincent has been promoted to the role of Asia-Pacific senior vice-president and general manager and will relocate to the company's Hong Kong office.

Evans will be responsible for spearheading continued company growth in the region, capitalising on business opportunities from information solutions, Cloud and Big Data.

He will also have an overall responsibility to grow the business across A/NZ, as well as manage all operational aspects including driving business strategies, setting performance goals, and growing overall profitability of the company.

Evans' first point of focus will be to execute the Hitachi vision of being a provider of information solutions to the market through its strategic Big Data and Cloud-based offerings.

He joins the Hitachi Data Systems A/NZ team from Europe, where he was regional vice-president and general manager of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa -- managing a region comprising 38 countries.

Evans has also held general manager positions in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States countries at Hitachi Data Systems, in addition to his role as the general manager for channels in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before joining Hitachi Data Systems, Evans co-founded a management consultancy firm that provided sales, marketing and leadership support to UK organisations.

He has also held senior roles at Computacenter and numerous system integrators, consultancy partners, independent software vendors (ISV), distribution businesses and application partners across the UK. Evans will be based in Hitachi Data Systems' Sydney office.
