Mahindra Satyam steps up Australian presence

IT services provider, Mahindra Satyam, is preparing to rapidly expand into the Australian market through appointing Bobby Gupta to lead its A/NZ team.

Gupta was previously in charge of the company's Middle East operations and has been replaced by G B Kumar, who maintains more than 20 years experience. Kumar previously worked for Cisco as its enterprise services managing director across Asia Pacific, Japan and China.

Gupta will be responsible for building the Australian team. In his previous role, Mahindra Satyam stated Gupta managed a series of big deals, new wins and opening in new geographical markets.

Gupta has previously worked and studied in Australia, joining Mahindra Satyam from IBM in 2009.

"Both A/NZ and Middle East & Africa (MEA) markets are high-growth opportunities for Mahindra Satyam, after we complete our merger with Tech Mahindra," Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa, senior vice-president Mahindra Satyam, Rohit Gandhi, said. " We sense traction from clients, prospects and partners that gives us a great reason to lend more focus here. I am confident that the inclusion of Bobby and Kumar into the leadership will help us achieve our goals."

According to Mahindra Satyam, about 24 per cent of its revenues derive from markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
