Apple's Jonathan Ive is star of UK school's Top Trumps Tournament

Classic card game Top Trumps is to show today's school kids that they can aspire to become the next Jonathan Ive

Classic card game Top Trumps is spearheading a new initiative designed to show today's school kids that they can aspire to become the next Jonathan Ive or Mark Zuckerberg.

Announcing the initiative, creator Rockpack notes that while he now lives in San Francisco, Sir Jonathan Ive was actually born in Chingford, East London, and suggests that: "Emulating Apple's design genius is not an impossible dream."

"We want to teach kids about the people behind the amazing technologies they use everyday," explains the company, which has produced the latest Top Trumps pack for the National Schools Tournament.

The Digital Heroes Top Trumps pack will celebrate those individuals that have done most to shape our bold and vibrant digital world, claims Rockpack. The theme is "internet safety and digital heroes".

"The Top Trumps pack will provide children with a set of readily identifiable role models," claims the company, adding: "Studying Mark Zuckerberg and the origins of Facebook, for example, can lead to a conversation with kids about online profiles and the importance of not sharing too much personal information online."

The Tournament features over 3,000 schools, with a potential reach of 300,000 children, aged 7-11. Registering for the Top Trumps National Schools Tournament is free, more information here.
