Argos owner Home Retail Group inks Atos contract

Company wants IT to support business account scheme launch

Home Retail Group, which runs the Argos and Homebase retail chains, has inked a four year deal with Atos.

Under the agreement, Home Retail Group wants to implement a business account scheme, in which small and medium sized businesses can purchase goods and services in-store, online and via Argos Direct.

The scheme will also launch with a new 'For Business' account card, run by the company's business to business division, Argos for Business, and aided by the Atos agreement.

Atos will provide full management of the business account card as well as providing an end to end service from application to payment. The on-line account support aims to allow customers to manage their account, control costs and access various management information tools including an invoice archive.

The scheme will commence in April with a trial across a region of Argos stores.

Danny Clenaghan, Managing Director of Argos for Business said that the For Business account "allows businesses instant access to over 35,000 product lines", supported by "excellent account management tools".
