Orange will sell Android smartphones pre-loaded with Lookout security software in 2013.

The mobile operator and mobile security firm have struck a deal to ship Android smartphones with the Lookout app next year. Select Android handsets will come with Lookout for Orange, T-Mobile and EE customers in the UK. See alsoGroup test: what's the best smartphone?

Paul-François Fournier, executive vice president at Orange Technocentre, said: "It is critical we help protect our customers, and this partnership with Lookout allows us to provide additional protection for our customers without them having to take any action, or become experts on mobile security,"

The Lookout app has over 25 million users worldwide and protects from as malware, phishing, data loss. It can also come to the rescue when a phone is lost or stolen.

Lookout claims it locates £4.5 million worth of phones every day while 40 percent of Android users will click on a malicious link on their smartphone in 2013.

Smartphones from Orange, T-Mobile and EE with Lookout pre-installed will start appearing from early 2013.
